Hi, my name is Murrimi, and I heard you wanted to know about the Fairy Forest, so here I am to talk about it a bit. Just a bit. No spoilers, right? Well maybe a few spoilers, just so you know a little more about what’s going on.
The Fairy Forest sits right on the northwestern border of the Moo Farm, though it is comparatively massive compared to the farm itself. I live a 50 kilometer walk inside the Fairy Forest, and that’s about in the middle of it.
The Fairy Forest is a place many call dangerous. I wouldn’t call it dangerous at all, but then I am a fae mushroom fox and I am self-aware enough to know I have a different perspective on things. But to be fully disclosant, I have been requested to put up the signage “Abandon thyself all ye who enter here” at all the entrances, because people rarely leave my forest, and when they do, they are rarely the same people who came in. I personally don’t see what’s wrong with that, but to all their own.
It is my most sincerest wish that people find themselves when they come into the forest, and when they do, people rarely want to leave. Some people find themselves in the forest and then feel that they cannot leave because they aren’t the same person they were. Sometimes they feel regret about this, and sometimes this has caused me … trouble. But over time, I have found that people accept themselves in the end. As a mushroom, I have a tendency to think longer term about things, but I don’t want to make this about me, sooo… About this Fairy Forest.
Here in the Fairy Forest, the trees are so dense that you can hardly see the sun, rarely can tell the time of day and know day and night only by how much green is glowing above your head. You’ll hear the rain hitting the treetops 10 minutes before it reaches you. And within my forest there are many creatures, some of which I’ve made, some of which others made, and the rest, what others became when they found their true selves. I could write a book listing them but for now, we’ll stick with the ones you should know about nearest the farm.
On the border between the Forest and the Farm, there is the meadow. The meadow itself has an enchantment on its own, but the main thing is that it is where many of the creatures of the farm and the forest tend to meet. In particular the fox bees and the raccoon bees.
Above are the two queens of two different hives. Murribee of the fox-bees on the left (they live in the forest), and Marigold of the raccoon bees on the right (they live on the farm). The two hives are friendly with each other, though both make different kinds of honey.
There are also the spiderbuns, some of the forest’s protectors. They are generally friendly unless you harm my forest. If that happens, then if you end up just tied up in a spider web, you should consider yourself lucky …
There are many other creatures, most are playful for better or worse. So if you want to get lost, or find yourself, you can find a home with us here! If not, I suggest walking the long way around.
